Executive Foreword
The centennial GSE 2004-05 of R.I.Dist.3060 to England & Wales in the UK was a great success. The moment we got off the plane and met GSE Chair Mervyn, DG. Colin, TRF Chair Colin & Area Coordinator David, we could feel the warmth of welcome and anticipate what we were going to get in this part of the world.

D1180 is a unique District, which consists of north of England & Wales. England & Wales have totally different cultures, languages. We were fortunate to enjoy natural beauty & two cultures in one trip!!

During the GSE, our D1180 hosts introduced to the highest forms of English & Wales art and culture, through nationally renowned experts in their fields.

Our itinerary was full of cultural & vocational visits and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. In addition to formal meetings with the mayors of Chester & lady Mayor of Borough of Wirral, we met numerous local political, business, education, and cultural leaders. We got behind-the-scenes tours of major businesses and factories, government facilities, schools, museums, ports, power plants, mines, gardens, castles, construction sites, and recycling facilities and vocational visits. I have taken total 3200 photographs in 35 days. We have strictly followed 6-7-8 formula, i.e. get up at 6 am, breakfast at 7 am, 8am to go. No day ended before 12 midnight!!!
