Gift to our hosts
I spent quite a bit of time discussing what gifts I should carry for my host families, vocational hosts, and Rotary GSE sponsors. I offer the following as greatest hits:

As I arrived to each host first of all given our Team Brochure, so they know about you. Then I showed them my Scrap Book, this was the best tool to tell about yourself & your family, culture etc.

Suggestive scrapbook photographs:

Childhood

Any ceremony of childhood

You as a student

Family

Marriage

Children
News paper cuttings

- Showing development of your country
- Culture
- Relations between host countries
Festivals
Outing
Your rotary club meeting
Rotary fellowship
Some rotary projects
And Brochures of Tourism on India.

Gifts carried:
Lots of Rotary pins

- Peacock Broaches with Rotary emblem for ladies
- India & UK Flag Pin with Rotary Emblem for males
- Cultural dance Pin for kids & others
Hand embroidered Letter Hanging
Towel hanger made from tie & dye hand printed cloth with seashells sewed on it
Painting made of gem stone - Great conversation piece
Hand woven ethnic beaded Velvet Purse.
Beads Key chain- as a parting Gift
Cassette of Indian classical Music 'sound of valley' - everybody enjoyed it
Bangles & Rings from my Industry House- Hostess loved it

It is suggested that as Team Leader one should carry Gift for GSE Chair & All Area co-ordinators also.

Note: Rather than wrapping presents before you go, I suggest taking gift bags and decorative wrapping paper to wrap things once you are there. The bags and tissue paper pack very easily and allow you to customize your gift selections for each family.
